TOKOROZAWA, Saitama Pref. -- The Yomiuri Giants put a third nail in the Seibu Lions' coffin Tuesday night with a 10-2 win in Game 3 of the Japan Series before a crowd of 30,933 at the Seibu Dome.
Kazuhiro Kiyohara tied the game with his second home run of the Series and Tomohiro Nioka belted a grand slam to put the game out of reach as the Giants moved within one win of their 20th Japan Series title.
"This was the first time in the Series the Giants trailed the Lions, so Kiyohara's home run really helped turn the mood around," Yomiuri manager Tatsunori Hara said after the game. "We've just been focused on winning one game at a time and that's the way we're going to approach things tomorrow."
