bantamweight champion Joichiro Tatsuyoshi is set for a return to the ring after a three-year hiatus, with a comeback fight slated for December.
Tatsuyoshi, who announced his retirement after a loss to champion Veeraphol Nakonluangpromotion of Thailand in August 1999, is scheduled to face an as-yet-unnamed opponent at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium on Dec. 15.
"I haven't heard if the fight has been decided yet but I've been building myself so I'm ready for it," said Tatsuyoshi, who started training again last year.
The 32-year-old will likely face a world-ranked foe as he works his way back toward challenging for the world title.
