Norihiro Nakamura hit a grand slam and drove in five runs and Tuffy Rhodes, bidding for the Pacific League RBI title, doubled in a run as the second-place Kintetsu Buffaloes beat the Orix BlueWave 6-4 on Sunday at the Osaka Dome.
Nakamura deposited Satoshi Tokumoto's offering into the seats in left field for his first grand slam of the season and 12th overall in the third inning and hit a two-out RBI single in the fifth.
Rhodes notched his 114th RBI in the first inning to move to within one of Seibu Lions slugger Alex Cabrera in the race for the RBI title.
