Ozaki, who began the day with a one-shot cushion over Hiroyuki Fujita, relinquished his lead on the 13th hole, moved back into a tie at the 16th and then pulled away on the next en route to a winning total of 17-under-par 271 after his second straight 69.

The victory was the 94th for the 55-year-old Ozaki since the tour system was established in 1973 and his first in 777 days since his previous victory in August 2000.

"I'm happy. No doubt about it. I had been believing that this day would come. It's as if I've been fighting the evil of golf for the last two years and one month, and in that sense, I'm very satisfied with this win," Ozaki said.

Fujita matched Ozaki with a 69 and finished the tournament second at 16-under 272. Tsuneyuki Nakajima followed in third at 273 after a 66.
