South Korean striker Ahn Jung Hwan will join J. League first division side Shimizu S-Pulse on a one-year, full-transfer deal, Shimizu officials said Monday.

Shimizu and Ahn's management company reached the deal after the World Cup star fell out with his former Italian club Perugia and saw a move to English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers collapse after being denied a work permit by British authorities.

Financial details were not immediately known on the deal for the 26-year-old Ahn, who is due to arrive in Japan on Tuesday.

Ahn impressed by scoring the golden goal that gave South Korea a dramatic 2-1 win over Italy in the second round of this summer's World Cup.
