Alex Cabrera hit his 51st homer of the season and drove in four runs on a 3-for-4 night as the front-running Seibu Lions routed the Kintetsu Buffaloes 7-3 at Osaka Dome on Friday night.
Cabrera hit an RBI single in the first inning, doubled home the go-ahead in the sixth and then put the game out of reach with his 100th career homer in Japan in the ninth after Kazuo Matsui's two-run shot made it 5-1.
Cabrera, who is now four homers shy of the Japanese single-season home run record shared by Sadaharu Oh and Tuffy Rhodes, hit his homer after Rhodes failed to catch a routine flyball in left to put a runner on first.
