Japan midfielder Junichi Inamoto scored his first goal in the English Premier League to inspire Fulham to a 3-2 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Veteran striker Teddy Sheringham and defender Dean Richards grabbed goals to put the visitors fully in command at the break before Inamoto sparked the comeback at Loftus Road midway through the second half.

After the Tottenham defense failed to clear a cross from the right, the 22-year-old brought Fulham back into the match by rifling in a low strike from 20 meters out in the 68th minute.

Substitute Steed Malbranque leveled from the penalty spot in the 84th minute and Sylvain Legwinski snatched all three points for the home side by firing home the winner in injury time.

"My first goal (in the Premier League) produced results today, I'm really pleased we won," said Inamoto, who was named Man-of-the-Match. "I think the goal gave the boost we needed to get back into the game."

The former Gamba Osaka midfielder, who has also scored four times in the Intertoto Cup, completed his first full 90 minutes in his sixth appearance since moving to Fulham over the summer.

Meanwhile, Takayuki Suzuki came on as a late substitute in Genk's 5-2 victory over Germinal Beerschot in the Belgian first division.

With a comfortable win already assured, Suzuki came on up front in the 88th minute but was unable to get his name on the scoresheet.
