Japan midfielder Shinji Ono had a hand in the final goal as Feyenoord maintained its unbeaten start to the season with a 4-1 home win over newly promoted neighbor Excelsior Rotterdam in the Dutch first division on Tuesday.

Pierre Van Hooijdonk opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute and added a second three minutes later to put the UEFA Cup winner on its way to a comfortable victory in front of 43,100 at De Kuip Stadium.

Brian Pinas reduced the arrears in the 24th minute for the visitors but Sebastian Pardo re-established Feyenoord's two goal advantage with a third eight minutes after the interval.

In the final minute, Ono's shot found its way to Argentine striker Mariano Bombarda who made no mistake to complete the rout and move Bert Van Marwijk's men on to seven points from three games, two behind leader PSV Eindhoven.

"It would have been nice if my shot had gone in, but it led to the fourth goal so that will do for me," said Ono.

PSV thrashed struggling AZ Alkmaar 4-0 away for its third win of the season to move to the top of the table on goal difference ahead of Ajax Amsterdam and RKC Waalwijk.
