Nobuhiko Matsunaka went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and came within a triple of hitting for the cycle Wednesday as the Daiei Hawks beat the Pacific League-leading Seibu Lions 11-3 with a 14-hit attack.
Matsunaka connected for a two-run homer off Fumiya Nishiguchi (13-8) for his second homer in as many nights to open the scoring in a three-run second before the visitors added eight more runs in the next two innings at Seibu Dome.
Akio Mizuta (2-0), who picked off two runners in the first, pitched his first career complete game in only his second outing this season. He allowed eight hits, struck out nine and walked two.
