Hugh Miller had made plans for his wife's birthday on Sept. 4. He was supposed to take part in the four-day Dream Bowl 2002 Match Play Tournament in Yokohama and fly home just in time to be with his wife, Donna.
Those plans changed dramatically on Monday, but Miller got 5.2 million richer and he knows that'll sit well with Donna.
Miller, who won his last Professional Bowlers Association title 10 years ago, downed two-time PBA Player of the Year Parker Bohn III in the semifinals and Japan's Yukio Yamazaki in the final to clinch the Dream Bowl 2002 a tournament with pros and amateurs from Japan, the United States, South Korea and China at the Yokohama Prince Hotel Bowling Center.
