Norihiro Nakamura hit his first homer in 11 games and Kenshi Kawaguchi chipped in a solo shot Sunday to help the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes to a 3-1 win over the Pacific League-leading Seibu Lions.

Right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma (7-4) and two relievers made the advantage stand at the Seibu Dome as Kintetsu salvaged the final game of a three-game series and halted the Lions' winning streak at six games.

At the Fukuoka Dome, Kenji Jojima hit a solo homer and Pedro Valdes followed with a three-run blast in the second inning Sunday as Daiei cruised past Orix.

Valdes also chipped in with an RBI hit in Daiei's three-run fourth inning as the Hawks took a seven-run lead on way to their seventh win in the last eight games.

Fighters 4, Marines 3
Hiroshi Narahara put Nippon Ham on top with a two-run single in the second inning and Yukio Tanaka and D.T. Cromer added solo homers for insurance to give the Fighters a win over Chiba Lotte.

Hayato Nakamura (7-5), breezing along with a three-hitter through eight innings, gave up a pair of runs on four hits in the ninth before Hiroshi Shibakusa was called on to record the final out.

At the Nagoya Dome, Scott Bullett sparked a seven-run uprising in the seventh inning with a two-run homer to the upper deck and Motonobu Tanishige connected for a grand slam as the Chunichi rallied to shock Yomiuri.

Third-year southpaw Shigetoshi Yamakita (1-3) picked up the win with 2 2/3 scoreless innings of work in relief of starter Martin Vargas.
