Brazilian coach Marco Aurelio Moreira has inked a contract to be the new manager of first-division Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol, the coach said Friday.

Moreira, 50, will replace Steve Perryman of Britain, who was fired after a poor season in the J. League first stage.

Moreira is a former midfielder who became famous for the dexterity with the ball and the capacity to organize the teams he lined on.

"He has had an excellent proposal (from Kashiwa) and definitely he could not turn it down," said Cruzeiro deputy chairman Alvimar Perrella.
