Hideki Matsui extended his lead in the Central League home run race with his 29th and 30th homers of the season as the Yomiuri Giants overwhelmed the Hiroshima Carp 15-1 Friday night at the Tokyo Dome.
"This was our first home game in a week and since there are so many fans here, I'm really happy I could clear the fence," Matsui said. "I hope we gave everyone who came out tonight something to remember."
Matsui's wasn't the only memorable performance. Giants shortstop Tomohiro Nioka went 4-for-5 with two home runs -- including a grand slam in the eighth inning -- and six RBIs.
