Last season's Japan Open champion Taichi Teshima has received an invitation to the U.S. PGA Championship later this month, Japanese tour officials said Wednesday.
Teshima brings the Japanese contingent to five at the Aug. 15-18 tournament, the fourth and final major of the season, at the Hazeltine National course.
Shigeki Maruyama, currently seventh on the U.S. tour rankings and Shingo Katayama, who finished fourth at last year's U.S. PGA, both qualified automatically for the tournament.
Last year's Japan tour overall champion Toshimitsu Izawa and Toru Taniguchi have also received invitations to compete in Minnesota.
