OSAKA -- Japanese ace Takahiro Yamamoto led all scorers with 19 points Sunday, but Japan fell to its 10th straight loss in men's World League volleyball competition with a straight sets drubbing at the hands of Sydney Olympic champion Yugoslavia.
Yugoslavia, looking to advance to next month's World League finals in Brazil, improved its Pool D record to seven wins against three losses with its 25-17, 25-22, 30-28 victory at Osaka Central Municipal Gymnasium. France, which beat Greece in Castelnau le Lez, France on Saturday, leads Pool D with an 8-2 record.
With no chance of advancing themselves, the Japanese players erred on their serves and had difficulty breaking through the tough Yugoslavian wall at the net.
