Taiwanese rookie Chang Chin-chia pitched a four-hitter over seven scoreless innings Sunday as the Seibu Lions extended their lead in the Pacific League with a 3-2 victory over the second-place Kintetsu Buffaloes at the Osaka Dome.
Chang (4-1) struck out 13 while walking four and Kazuo Matsui led off the game with his 100th career homer to pace the Lions, who took a 3-0 lead on RBI hits by Tatsuya Ozeki in the seventh and Tsutomu Ito in the eighth.
Hiroshi Takamura (5-4), who allowed the memorable homer to Matsui on the first pitch of the game, took the loss after giving up two runs and six hits in seven innings.
