South Korean rookie Hur Suk Ho captured his first ever title on the Japan Tour after firing a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday in the final round of the Juken Sangyo Open Hiroshima tournament.

Hur began the round tied for second but held his nerve as his closest challengers fell away on Hiroshima Country Club's Hachihommatsu Course, equaling the day's best round of 69 to win the title by three strokes with a 14-under-par total of 274.

The 28-year-old recovered after dropping two shots early on, scoring birdies on the sixth and seventh to head into the final stretch sharing the lead with New Zealander David Smail.

While Hur picked up another shot on the par-4 14th, Smail slid out of contention with three straight bogeys.

Mamoru Osanai also carded a 69 to come home in second on 11-under 277, one shot ahead of Tomohiro Kondo (69) and Smail (73).
