Brazil striker Edilson, a member of the country's World Cup-winning squad, has rejoined J. League First Division side Kashiwa Reysol, club officials said Wednesday.
Edilson signed with Kashiwa from Brazilian club Cruzeiro on a short-term contract running from July 1 through Jan. 1 next year.
The 31-year-old played for Kashiwa in the 1996 and 1997 seasons, scoring 44 goals in 54 league matches.
