Maurice Greene, who holds the world record of 9.79 seconds in the men's 100 meters, will run in the Super Track and Field Meet in Yokohama in September, organizers said Monday.
Greene is due to join fellow Olympic champions Ivan Pedroso of Cuba (men's long jump), Szymon Ziolkowski of Poland (men's javelin) and American Stacy Dragila (women's pole vault) in the Sept. 16 meet at International Stadium Yokohama.
Men's 800-meter world record holder Wilson Kipketer of Denmark and Olympic and world champion Szymon Ziolkowski of Poland (men's hammer throw) are among other foreign athletes in talks with the organizers for the annual exhibition event.
Koji Murofushi, hammer throw silver medalist at last year's world championships, heads the lineup of Japanese competitors along with Dai Tamesue, world bronze medal winner in the men's 400-meter hurdles, and women's 3,000-meter Japanese record holder Kayoko Fukushi.
