Hanshin southpaw Kei Igawa threw eight shutout innings and the Tigers sent 11 batters to the plate in a seven-run seventh inning Sunday to salvage the final game of a three-game series with a 10-2 triumph over the Central League-leading Yomiuri Giants at the Tokyo Dome.
Igawa (10-4) struck out seven and held the Giants scoreless through seven innings before giving up a solo homer to Tomohiro Nioka in the eighth inning.
Hanshin catcher Akihiro Yano hit a two-run homer off 18-year-old rookie Hiroki Sanada (0-1) in the second inning and Makoto Imaoka and Osamu Hamanaka each had a pair of RBIs to snap the Giants' five-game winning streak.
