Japan's Ai Sugiyama cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Grand Slam debutante Zuzana Ondraskova of the Czech Republic in the first round of Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Sugiyama, ranked 30th in the world, rolled over the 140th-ranked Czech qualifier with a solid display of her trademark baseline game to book a place in the women's singles second round for the fourth straight year at the All England Club.

"I played really well throughout the match. I was able to keep a good rhythm with my opponent so I hit my strokes well. I played her without much trouble so I'm really happy. I just want to concentrate on one match at a time," Sugiyama said.
