MORI, Shizuoka Pref. -- When Japan was knocked out of the World Cup in a 1-0 loss to Turkey on Tuesday, Japan coach Philippe Troussier said his team didn't have enough international experience. What were his players' opinions on their performance in the tournament?
"The pressure and tension in the tournament, particularly in yesterday's game, were something different from what I'd experienced before," Japan defender Naoki Matsuda said at Japan's media center in Shizuoka Prefecture.
"Each game was a real battle and was completely different from the friendlies. With our fans support, we were able to beat our opponents," the Yokohama F. Marinos defender added.
