Atsuya Furuta singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and the Yakult Swallows regained third place in the Central League standings Tuesday with a 4-3 win over the Chunichi Dragons at the Nagoya Dome.
Right-handed reliever Ryu Kawabata (1-1) picked up the win with two strikeouts in the sixth inning as Yakult posted its third straight win over the Dragons in the day's only professional baseball game.

FUKUOKA (Kyodo) The Daiei Hawks removed closer Rodney Pedraza from the 28-man active roster Tuesday, after the right-hander injured his right hamstring fielding a bunt Sunday in a 6-5 win over the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes.
