OSAKA -- On-fire Japan reached another World Cup milestone Friday, advancing to the World Cup second round for the first time ever, after topping Group H with a 2-0 win over Tunisia at Osaka's Nagai Stadium.

Substitute Hiroaki Morishima of Cerezo Osaka and man-of-the-match Hidetoshi Nakata of Parma scored second half goals to send the cohost through.

In reaching the knockout stages, Japan collected seven points in Group H, notching up a 2-1-0 record in only its second appearance in the tournament.
