Koji Uehara threw a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings and halted Yomiuri's four-game losing streak Saturday as the Giants eked out a 1-0 win over the Chunichi Dragons at the Fukuoka Dome.

Uehara (7-3) struck out eight and gave up four hits without a walk for his first shutout of the season as the Giants gained a game on the Hanshin Tigers in the Central League standings.

Akira Eto drove home the only run of the game in the fourth inning when he ripped a single into center field with two out and runners on first and third.
