SOGWIPO, South Korea -- And another one bites the dust. China's first World Cup adventure came to a shuddering halt here Saturday night when it was outclassed 4-0 by a Brazilian team that was clearly still holding something in reserve.

Brazil may have called the tune on the pitch, but the number -- and sheer volume -- of Chinese supporters in this impressive stadium drowned out its samba. "This is a victory that strengthens the self-confidence, the spirit of the team," Brazilian striker Ronaldo said.

"We are getting better coordinated every day and we hope to keep scoring goals and win our games."
