The Yokohama BayStars have formally acquired right-hander Chris Holt from the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, officials of the Central League club said Monday.
Holt has a career 4.76 ERA with 28 wins, including eight posted in both 1997 and 2000 while with the Houston Astros.
The BayStars, currently at the bottom of the league standings with a 12-35 record, also revealed they are negotiating with former Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ernie Young who has a .224 average in 280 game appearances.
Cabrera warned
Seibu Lions slugger Alex Cabrera was reprimanded after he was ejected from Sunday's game for charging the mound in Seibu's 5-0 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters, Pacific League president Tadao Koike said Monday.
Cabrera shoved starter Carlos Mirabal after the right-hander hit him in the arm with a pitch in the fifth inning.
