The Japanese World Cup Organizing Committee on Tuesday formed a department within its organization to deal with the current delay in delivery of World Cup tickets.
JAWOC was informed by FIFA on Tuesday that 150,000 tickets sold by JAWOC will not be delivered to Japan on the initial scheduled date Wednesday due to a ticket printing delay.
Most of the 150,000 tickets are those that were sold during the third round of sales by JAWOC but includes tickets purchased by wheelchair users. JAWOC last week announced that 200,000 tickets have yet to be delivered to Japan but 70,000 arrived on Friday.
JAWOC has sent staff to Manchester, England, where the ticket handling company is located, to retrieve as many tickets as possible rather than waiting for a courier service to deliver them.
