Taiwan's Wei Yun-jye equaled her career-best round of 6-under-par 66 Saturday to grab a share of the lead with Mikino Kubo in the 100 million yen Vernal Ladies golf tournament.
Wei made eight birdies and a pair of bogeys at the Fukuoka Century Golf Club to vault from 12th place to the top of the leaderboard with a 6-under total of 138.
Kubo, meanwhile, carded six birdies and a bogey on her way to a "personal-best" 31 on the back nine and a second-round 67 as she had just 10 putts for nine holes.
