Unheralded South Korean golfer Hur Suk Ho birdied five of the first seven holes Saturday as he matched the day's best score with a 66 for a share of the lead in the Japan PGA Championship.

Hur carded seven birdies altogether on the KOMA Country Club's 7,048-yard course in Nara Prefecture to put him at 7-under 209, level with Mamoru Osanai.

Osanai, seeking his first tour title in three years, carded five birdies and a pair of bogeys for a 69.
