The Buffs drew first blood in the fifth inning on Akihito Igarashi's two-run homer -- his first dinger since joining Kintetsu from the Orix BlueWave this season.
In the seventh inning, Hawks slugger Hiroki Kokubo nailed a solo homer to narrow Kintetsu's lead. Followup Nobuhiko Matsunaka singled before Kenji Jojima smacked a two-run homer to give Daiei a 3-2 lead.
