The New York Mets announced Tuesday that they have placed right-hander Satoru Komiyama on the 15-day disabled list (DL) after the Japanese rookie injured his finger Monday.

Komiyama cut his right middle finger while shutting his garage door before Monday's game against Atlanta.

The Mets revealed later that X-rays were negative, but opted to rest Komiyama after it became evident that he would not be able to throw for several days.
