RIFU, Miyagi Pref. -- Urawa Reds veteran Masahiro Fukuda scored a V-goal Sunday to end Vegalta Sendai's run of five straight wins in the J. League's first division.

Playing before 38,159 fans at Miyagi's World Cup Stadium, Vegalta failed to extend their remarkable winning streak from the beginning of the season as the Reds kept the pressure on, particularly after the half-time break, to earn a 2-1 win.

The Reds had the bulk of the chances in the game and they took the lead after just 10 minutes when Emerson ran on to a through pass from fellow Brazilian Harison and neatly lifted the ball over the Vegalta keeper.
