The Nippon Ham Fighters have initiated procedures to re-locate their franchise to Sapporo, the Japan pro baseball commissioner's office revealed Tuesday.
Nippon Ham team president Takeshi Kojima on Monday submitted documents to the commissioner's office seeking a move from Tokyo to Sapporo for the 2004 season under the name of Nippon Ham chairman of the board Yoshinori Okoso.
