At Chiba Marine Stadium, Michihiro Ogasawara swung the big bat for Nippon Ham, going 4-for-5 with a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help the Fighters down Lotte, sending the Marines to their eighth straight loss from the season opener.
Tied 1-1 in the sixth, Nippon Ham scored three runs -- including a two-run double by Kuniyuki Kimoto -- to take the lead.
With the Fighters up 4-2, Ogasawara belted a two-run homer in a three-run eighth inning to widen the lead.
