Thailand's No. 1 Paradorn Srichaphan beat Takao Suzuki in straight sets in Sunday's reverse singles to deny Japan a place in the World Group playoffs of the Davis Cup.
Paradorn's 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 win over Suzuki put Thailand through the Asia-Oceania qualifying zone before Danai Udomchoke downed Goichi Motomura 7-5, 6-2 in the final match as the host completed the second-round contest 4-1.
