Pinch-hitter Derrick White drew a walk with the bases loaded in the 11th inning Thursday and the Hanshin Tigers eked out a 2-1 victory over the host Yokohama BayStars.
It was Hanshin's fifth straight win without a loss in the Central League and was the first time since 1938 that the Tigers have started a season with five wins in a row.
Hanshin, which twice had runners trying to take an extra base thrown out at third earlier in the game, got back-to-back hits from Atsushi Kataoka and George Arias to open the 11th inning against reliever Domingo Guzman.
