Yokozuna Takanohana on Thursday appeared likely to sit out his fifth straight tournament as chronic knee problems have shown few signs of improvement in training prior to the start of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament. Takanohana, who last appeared in last year's summer meet in May, went through light workouts the past two days for the March 10-24 tourney at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium but still appears to be struggling to regain his form. "I've gotten to the point now where I can actually train in the ring," Takanohana said, citing the right knee he injured in the summer tourney last May.
