The Orix BlueWave on Monday introduced its latest foreign acquisitions -- infielder Fernando Seguignol, formerly of the Montreal Expos, and ex-Texas Ranger utility player Scott Sheldon.

Although just arriving the previous day, both players told Japanese reporters that they are eager to get going for Orix, which lost star players Ichiro Suzuki and So Taguchi to the major leagues over the past two years.

Sheldon, who usually plays at third or shortstop, became only the third player in major league history to play all nine positions in a single game on Sept. 6, 2000, while playing at Comiskey Park against the Chicago White Sox.

Seguignol, meanwhile, said he learned about Japanese baseball from Expos teammate Masato Yoshii, who pitched for Kintetsu and the Yakult Swallows before leaving for the major leagues in 1998.
