Seven of the 25 types of prestige ticket packages for this summer's World Cup finals sold out on the first day of the second round of sales, officials of the Japanese organizing committee for the 2002 World Cup (JAWOC) said Monday.
Among the quick sellouts are a package for Japan's three first-round games, priced at 500,000 yen, and venue packages for first-round games in Saitama and Yokohama, each priced at 280,000 yen.
The most expensive of the gold packages, which are priced at 1.65 million yen and include top-grade tickets to two of Japan's group games plus one semifinal and the final, are still available.
A total of 18,000 tickets feature in the prestige packages in the second round of sales, which will last until Jan. 31.
The prestige ticket packages for the May 31-June 30 tournament, which Japan is co-hosting with South Korea, are available to corporations and individuals who reside in Japan.
The packages also include limited edition souvenirs and access to a special hospitality booth where guests will be provided with food and beverage services.
