Japan midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata will be sidelined for around two weeks after injuring his thigh, his Italian club Parma said Thursday.

Nakata felt a slight pull in his thigh muscle during a training session on Tuesday and a club doctor advised 10-15 days rest.

Nakata has struggled to find his top form since a $26 million move over the summer and has started on the substitutes bench for the last five league matches. But he looked back near his best after coming on for the last 15 minutes in Sunday's game against Lecce.
