The Los Angeles Dodgers, who won the right to negotiate exclusively with Kazuhisa Ishii last week, made a formal contract offer in their first attempt to sign the 28-year-old southpaw, agent Joe Urbon said Tuesday.

Although details remain undisclosed, Urbon said the Dodgers presented Ishii with their first offer late Monday evening. Newspapers in Los Angeles reported the Dodgers were offering a three-year, $11 million package.

"I cannot tell you the contents (of the contact offer). We are considering how to respond to what they have offered. Whether we can reply this week or next week, we're still unsure," Urbon said.
