Daiei Hawks president Takeshi Kotsuka on Wednesday denied a report about a possible sale of the Pacific League club by debt-ridden supermarket chain operator Daiei.
"(Daiei Inc.) President Kunio Takagi confirmed that the Daiei group is never going to sell the Hawks," Kotsuka said, referring to the report suggesting the possibility that Daiei's creditor banks would ask for the Hawks to be sold in a new bailout package.
