Newly promoted Vegalta Sendai has signed Japan striker Yoshiteru Yamashita from relegated Avispa Fukuoka on a one-year loan deal effective from Feb. 1, Sendai officials said Monday.
The 24-year-old striker, who last year earned two international caps, has scored a total of 27 goals in 118 appearances in his J. League career.

Kashima Antlers coach Toninho Cerezo has been named as the Asian Football Confederation's Manager of the Month for December after leading his side to a second successive J. League title.
After last year guiding Kashima to an unprecedented domestic treble in his first season in charge, the 46-year-old Brazilian guided the Antlers to a second straight J. League title with a 3-2 aggregate win over first-stage champion Jubilo Iwata in the two-leg championship play-off.
