Reigning Olympic champion Tae Satoya and medal hope Aiko Uemura were named Tuesday to Japan's freestyle skiing team for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
The moguls specialists are among nine skiers selected by the Ski Association of Japan, which also include Yugo Tsukita (men's moguls), Miyuki Hatanaka (women's moguls) and Kayo Hemmi (women's aerial).
Satoya, who won the gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Games, will represent Japan in the Olympics for the third straight time while Uemura aims to add an Olympic medal to the bronze she won at last season's World Championships.
Teppei Noda, Katsuya Nakamoto and Kenro Shimoyama, who will compete in the men's moguls, complete the Japanese team along with aerial performer Taku Nakanishi.
