J. League Division Two club Kawasaki Frontale advanced to the semifinals of the Emperor's Cup after beating Division One side Tokyo Verdy 1969 3-0 Monday at Tokyo Stadium.
The Urawa Reds came from behind to edge JEF United Ichihara 2-1 at Sendai Stadium in Sendai, while Shimizu S-Pulse downed Gamba Osaka 2-0 in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture.
In the semifinals on Dec. 29, Frontale will meet Shimizu S-Pulse at Kobe Wing Stadium while the Reds will play Cerezo at Saitama Stadium.
