Former Glasgow Celtic and Sanfrecce Hiroshima manager Wim Jansen is joining his fellow Dutchman and new Urawa Reds manager Hans Ooft at the J. League club next season, Urawa announced Friday.

Jansen, 55, guided Celtic to the Scottish League title in 1998 after spells in charge of his old Dutch League club Feyenoord in 1991-92, the Saudi Arabia national team in 1994 and J. League club Sanfrecce in 1995-96.

Jansen and Ooft were teammates at Feyenoord when the two played alongside each other in the late 1960s and early '70s. Jansen signed a one-year contract with the Reds starting from Feb. 1.

The deadline for candidates to apply is March 10 -- two months before the May 10 election in Kuala Lumpur. The period of service will be four years.

Two spots on the FIFA executive committee are chosen from the AFC, from which Worawi Makudi of Thailand and Abudullah K. Al-Dabal of Saudi Arabia are currently serving. Saudi Arabia and Thailand have both reportedly shown interest in retaining the positions for another term.

Japan has previously stood for the FIFA position on three occasions but lost out each time.
