Newly crowned national champion Hiroyuki Tomita maintained his sparkling form to win the rings and parallel bars while Yoshihiro Saito claimed a title on the horizontal bar at the Chunichi Cup gymnastics competition on Sunday.

Tomita of Juntendo University collected 9.750 points -- the highest mark among men's events of the day -- on the parallel bars to outperform all-around leader Naoya Tsukahara by 0.05 to obtain the second of his titles at Nagoya Sports Complex. Earlier, Tomita earned 9.700 on the rings, also brushing aside pressure from Tsukahara, who finished third, and China's Lu Yufu, who took second with 9.575.

Meanwhile, Saito found no difficulties prevailing on the horizontal bar as he topped with 9.725, outscoring Russian Georgy Grebenkov, who could only manage 9.175.

Yang Tae Young of South Korea won the vault with 9.387 and Tsukahara was runnerup with 9.300.

In the floor exercise, Russian Iouri Tikhonovski accumulated 9.525 points to take the title while Saito followed with 9.200.

On the pommel horse, Lu, who narrowly missed an all-around title Saturday by making a costly error on the vault, compiled 9.675 for the win. South Korean Shin Hyung Ook took second with 9.650.

In the women's disciplines, Romanian Andreea Raducan, winner of three gold medals at this year's World Championships, won the vault with 9.275, while Russian Lioudmila Ejova triumphed on the uneven bars with 9.625 and the beam with 9.750.

All-around titlist Tetyana Yarosh of Ukraine marked yet another high by taking the floor exercise with 9.425. Aya Manabe earned 9.000 for the best record among Japanese women, while 16-year-old Ayaka Sahara took third.
