Central League officials confirmed Monday they will do away with ranking teams by the number of wins and return to listing the league standings by winning percentage from next season.
The change was made after the confusion caused between June and July when the Yakult Swallows, who then had the best winning percentage in the league, were ranked behind the front-running Yomiuri Giants, who had played more games and had a higher number of wins.
