Czech sumo hopeful Pavel Bojar will begin his sumo career under the ring name "Takanoyama," the Japan Sumo Association announced Sunday in releasing the names of 11 newcomers to the sumo ranks and five returnees.
Bojar, an 18-year-old from Prague, will be listed as "Takanoyama" in the jonokuchi division for the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament getting under way Jan. 13 at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan.
